New work ‘Dressage’ is shown in London

Sarah’s new work created for her recent exhibition On Essence at The Rag Factory, London was a great success.

Dressage

In this piece, the latex sheet forming the garment is a cast that was used in the 2009 Degree Show where the On Essence group emerged. The On Essence exhibition at The Rag Factory one year on from the previous exhibition not only marks where the artist is as an individual but also how the latex has changed in the course of a year, both physically and functionally.

The use of a decorative bust and antique sewing machine have direct links to the Rag Factory’s past with the latex, rag-like material and alternative sewing thread bringing characteristics of the artist to form an evocative piece with an informative narrative.

Sarah Tyler’s next group exhibition will be at The Rag Factory, London 7th – 10th October 2010. This exhibition has been jointly organised by both Sarah and the On Essence artists whom she is working with.
